Developers · Authentication
Authenticate to Talvrin without widening access beyond what your application needs.
Authentication proves identity or credential possession. Authorization, entitlement, coverage, and data rights are evaluated separately — a valid credential is never treated as universal access.
No authentication method is currently published for this surface. Nothing below should be read as confirming a protocol, credential type, or endpoint.

Authentication Method Status
No authentication method is currently published.
Every fact below resolves to one approved Authentication Method Registry version. Until that registry publishes a method, this page describes governance only — never a guessed protocol, credential type, or endpoint.

Identity, Access & Entitlement Model
Six questions, six independent answers — never one access state.
“Authenticated” is never rendered as “Authorized,” “Entitled,” “Covered,” “Licensed,” or “Operational.” Each layer can succeed or fail on its own.
Authentication
Identity source
Who/what is making this request, or what approved credential proves access identity?
Explain only the source-approved proof method. A successful auth state does not imply permission to any resource.
Authorization
Permission policy
What actions/resources may this authenticated identity access?
Use approved permission and resource policies. Denials must never be mislabeled as authentication failures.
Entitlement
Entitlement authority
Has the account or workspace been granted access to the product capability or dataset?
Keep entitlement gating separate from credential validity, with an approved commercial handoff.
Coverage / availability
Coverage registry
Is this market, dataset, or capability released and supported?
A valid identity cannot turn planned or unsupported coverage into available coverage.
Data rights / permitted use
Rights authority
May this user or application consume, export, redistribute, cache, or derive from the requested data?
Rights enforcement remains authoritative even after authentication and entitlement succeed.
Operational health
Status mapping
Is the authentication or developer service functioning right now?
Use Developer Status when approved; never infer an outage from a single authentication error.

Quick Start
Six steps before your first authenticated request.
Quick start begins with eligibility, not with assuming you already own a credential. No step is skipped and no validation endpoint is fabricated to make the path feel shorter.
Confirm access eligibility
Know whether your account is allowed to obtain the method before any creation or authorization action is shown.
Obtain approved credential / complete authorization
Route through the canonical source-controlled acquisition flow — never a fabricated console or generic key generator.
Store secret material safely
Follow approved secure-storage expectations and environment separation; never plaintext files or source control.
Attach proof to request exactly as documented
Use the source-backed example with obvious non-secret placeholders — nothing valid-looking is ever published.
Handle authentication and permission errors distinctly
A denied request is diagnosed against the right layer — credential, permission, entitlement, rights, or outage.
Rotate / revoke when required
Replace or invalidate access on your own schedule, or immediately after a suspected exposure.

Credential Lifecycle
Nine stages, always in this order — from eligibility to recovery.
Exact mechanics are method-owned. What's fixed here is the order and the safety rule attached to each stage.
01Establish
Eligibility
Confirm access is allowed before exposing any creation or authorization action.
02Establish
Obtain / authorize
Route to the canonical source-controlled acquisition flow only.
03Establish
Reveal / capture
One-time or re-display policy is communicated exactly as implemented — never assumed.
04Protect & use
Store
Secure-storage expectations and environment separation are explained, never plaintext.
05Protect & use
Use
Proof is attached exactly as authoritative docs define, with non-secret placeholders only.
06Protect & use
Monitor
Last-used/expiry metadata is shown only on a governed authenticated surface, never in public docs.
07Maintain & respond
Rotate / renew
Overlap and cutover guidance is provided only when policy supports it — no forced unsafe downtime.
08Maintain & respond
Revoke
Invalidation path and its truthful effect are always clear and discoverable.

↺ Recover feeds back into Eligibility — a compromised credential restarts the cycle, it does not skip it.
Permissions & Least Privilege
Every permission has a purpose, a boundary, and an owner.
Defaults are the minimum required for the task. Broader access is requested only at the point a capability needs it — never to simplify onboarding.
Public label
A plain-language label from the approved permission registry — never an opaque internal policy ID alone.
Purpose
The concrete capability or resource access each permission actually enables.
Required vs. optional
Made explicit. Optional access is never preselected or portrayed as mandatory.
Default
Defaults to the minimum permissions required for the selected developer task.
Expansion
Broader permission is requested only at the point a capability actually needs it.
Revocation
What functionality stops when a permission or credential is removed, using authoritative behavior.

Secret Safety
Secrets never become documentation, analytics, or debug payload.
Credential material is excluded from URLs, analytics, logs, code repositories, browser bundles, support screenshots, and search indexes — by default, not by exception.

Always
- Environment-variable or secret-manager placeholders in every code sample.
- Credential material redacted in error messages and debug views.
- Paste, autofill, and password-manager use permitted for credentials and codes.
- Only a public example ID recorded when a copy action fires.
- Explicit user review required before a support bundle is submitted.
- Accessibility requirements treated as evidence-based, never removed for visual control.
Errors & Recovery
A credential problem is not the same as a permission, entitlement, or outage problem.
Each failure class is diagnosed and communicated separately. None are ever labeled “bad credentials” by default.
Credential-layer issues
Credential missing
Explain that authenticated access requires the approved proof method; link method setup.
Credential invalid / malformed
Show a safe generic message with a correction path — never echo credential or parser detail.
Credential expired
Explain expiry only where the method has expiry semantics, then route to renew.
Credential revoked
Explain access is no longer valid and route to the approved replacement process.

Service & data issues
Service unavailable
Use the authoritative status handoff if mapped, with safe retry guidance.
Rate / abuse control
Shown only if documented, and always distinguished from an authentication rejection.
Clock / signature mismatch
Surfaced only if the method actually uses time or signature semantics.
Docs source stale
An explicit currentness warning replaces a silently outdated method description.
Rotation, Revocation & Compromise
Safe credential replacement and incident response.
The credential is never asked for as proof of a problem. Revocation and rotation come first.
Planned rotation
Source-approved overlap and cutover pattern, validation step, and old-credential revocation — only when the architecture supports them.
Suspected exposure
Revocation and rotation are prioritized immediately, alongside approved security contact. The credential is never requested for verification.
Emergency disable
Security operations hold a governed disable mechanism ahead of general availability; public communication follows incident/status policy.

Accessible Authentication
Accessible verification and recovery are release-blocking, not an exception path.
WCAG 2.2 AA is the minimum for every sign-in, verification, credential-creation, consent, and recovery step linked from this page.
No memory, transcription, or manipulation puzzle as the only path through authentication.
Paste, autofill, and password-manager use permitted unless a documented, accessibility-reviewed reason restricts it.
Any CAPTCHA or bot check carries an accessible alternative, never assumed just because the page concerns authentication.
Time-limited steps announce their timing and offer an accessible extension or restart — work is never silently discarded.

Developer Status
Not yet mapped to this method.
Status is linked only once the authentication service has an approved public status mapping. A released method can be temporarily degraded without being deprecated — the two facts are never conflated.

Answer-First FAQ
Frequently asked, answered first.
Not currently. This page describes governance and the identity/access model only. A concrete method publishes from the approved Authentication Method Registry, never from this page ahead of it.
No method to authenticate with yet — but the access model is exact.
Read the identity, access, and entitlement model above to understand how a released method will be evaluated, or reach out about enterprise access needs before anything ships.
